Tale of light

I’ll fall out your eye,

like a teardrop

and slip away.

I’ll be the last scent

you’ll remember –

and the last whisper

in your purple night.

In your natural habitat,

you will have forgotten

that everything grows.

But you’ll remember

the grey walls,

and being in fury

somehow over something

you will have forgotten.

But before you sleep

as the weeping willow

howls outside your windy window

a fluorescent hum will kiss goodnight

your weary mind.

You’ll wake up

bathed in her bright light.
